FHLBNY Provides Funding
for The Partnership for The Homeless

May 26, 2021

Renters affected by the COVID-19 pandemic are now facing the prospect of the end of federal and state eviction moratoriums, while many small-scale landlords who are reliant on each tenant are now at risk of falling behind on mortgage payments. Staying true to their mission, the FHLBNY is helping address this issue by providing a charitable contribution to The Partnership for the Homeless.

“Thanks to the support of the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York, The Partnership is able to provide assistance to hundreds of vulnerable New Yorkers who are facing eviction,” said Áine Duggan, President and CEO of The Partnership for the Homeless. “Our focus is prevention — we believe the best way to solve homelessness is to prevent it. When people can remain safely housed, families and communities are stronger. The FHLBNY’s investment in us is an investment in them — it throws a lifeline when our communities need it most.”

The contribution of $225,000 made available by the FHLBNY’s Board of Directors will allow the organization to support approximately 700 households (~1,750 New Yorkers) across the five boroughs.
