Manager of Investment and Portfolio Management

Function:

    • Responsible for/supervises the Fair Value assessment of the Bank’s securities, 

       including detailed credit analysis and its impact to the valuation of PLMBS.
    • Compile all necessary documentation to substantiate fair value assessments and

       collaborating/coordinating with risk management groups to validate

       reasoning/sources used.
    • Select, value, price and negotiate the purchase of MBS, and other mortgage

       related product as authorized by ALMC and specified by the Director.
    • Propose funding strategies for investments and the portfolio.
    • Maintain the Bank’s MBS, and other securities databases.  This includes data

      entry, data integrity, determining necessary fields of information and amending

      database structure accordingly.
    • Use designated software to perform duties -- use Polypath, Intex, and 

      Bloomberg applications to generate analysis and data for Risk Management and

      ALM as required on individual mortgages, securities or portfolios. Perform all

      other tasks as assigned.
     

 

Requirements:

     

    Skills
    • Superior analytical skills
    • Strong in finance, likely with an undergraduate degree in economics or finance
    • Can establish analytical framework to choose from diverse investment 

      opportunities that meet Bank financial objectives
    • Can communicate portfolio strategies and activities to Director, Head of ALM and

      ALMC in ways that distill strategies to levels appropriate to each audience
    • Excellent financial modeling skills
    • Excellent negotiating skills
    • Excellent Oral Communications skills

    Education
    • Bachelors degree required, preferably in Finance.  MBA in Finance or CFA

      preferred

    Experience
    Experience with:
    i.   MBS market
    ii.   Derivatives
    iii.  Project management
    iv.  Database management
