Business Intelligence Analyst I

Function:
- Conduct business area analysis, requirements definition, identify source data, define data quality, transformation, and summarization processes
- Interview end users to determine requirements for data, reports, analyses, metadata, training, service levels, data quality, and performance
- Work with developers to translate requirements into technical specifications. Helps identify and assess potential data sources
- Participate in the analysis and design: Star Schemas, operational data stores and master data repositories
- Capture metadata
- Document mapping rules for ETL development
- Report development in Business Objects Enterprise using Web Intelligence & Crystal Reports
- Support BI design & architecture activities
- Provide full support for the Bank’s business intelligence environment. Support includes, but is not limited to:
o problem resolution (business and non-business hours);
o user support; and
o system maintenance - Support the Bank's application development process
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Technical Skills
*Familiar w/ Data Warehousing Concepts such as star schemas, metadata, operational data stores and master data
*Experience documenting mapping rules for ETL jobs
*Report development (Business Objects Enterprise Web Intelligence and/or Crystal reports preferred)
*Oracle Database SQL programming
*Sybase, MS SQL Server, DB2 knowledge a plus
*Familiarity reading data models - Domain Knowledge
*Requirements gathering
*Business Analysis - Management, Leadership, and Personal Skills
*People Oriented
*Strong Communication Skills: Verbal & Written
*Effective documentation skills - Education
*BS degree preferred in an analytical field such as engineering or sciences field - Experience
A minimum of:
* 5 years of IT experience
* 3 years of Business Intelligence experience
* 3 years of Requirements Gathering for BI projects experience
* 3 years of ETL rules mapping experience
* 1 year of Report development experience with Business Objects Enterprise
* 1 year of experience reading and understanding dimensional and 3rd Normal form data models
